Purpose:
Prepares and delivers financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by preparing and analyzing account information.
- Enters account information in order to documents financial transactions.
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Summarizes the current organizational financial status by gathering information; preparing balance sheet; profit and loss statement.
- Validates financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Manages accounting controls by preparing and suggesting policies and procedures.
- Guides accounting administrative-support staff by delegating tasks and answering questions.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by preparing and analyzing account information.
- Secures financial information by performing data base backups.
- Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and issuing disbursements.
- Responds to procedure queries by researching and interpreting accounting rules and regulations.
- Abides by federal, state, and local legal requirements of finance by becoming knowledgeable of current legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary actions.
- Creates special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
