Graphic Designer

Purpose:

Prepares visual presentation and promotion by designing art and copy layouts.

Graphic Designer Job Duties:

  • Gathers information and materials.
  • Plans the presentation concept.
  • Illustrates concept by designing layout of art and copy. These components include size, arrangement, font, and related aesthetic components.
  • Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
  • Prepares finished art and copy by managing the printing, typesetting and equipment; purchasing from vendors.
  • Prepares finished layout by marking and pasting up completed art.
  • Ensures positive operation of equipment by completing maintenance requirements.
  • Coordinates and communicates with outside agencies, art services, vendors, etc. to complete projects.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
