Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Data Scientist to lead advanced analytics initiatives and develop scalable data solutions that drive strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for a hands-on data scientist who enjoys solving complex business challenges, building predictive models, and transforming large datasets into actionable insights.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with business acumen and thrives in a collaborative environment where data plays a critical role in shaping customer experiences, operational efficiency, and company growth.
Principal Data Scientist Responsibilities:
- Develop analytical frameworks, performance metrics, and reporting methodologies to support data-driven business decisions
- Design and deploy predictive models, forecasting tools, and machine learning solutions to identify trends and opportunities
- Analyze customer, operational, and business data to uncover actionable insights and recommend improvements
- Build scalable data products and analytical solutions that support strategic initiatives across the organization
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define key business questions and translate them into analytical approaches
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools that enable self-service analytics for stakeholders
- Evaluate business performance and identify opportunities to improve customer experience, efficiency, and outcomes
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data used for reporting and analysis
- Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Contribute to data governance best practices and analytical standards
- Leverage emerging technologies, AI tools, and advanced analytics techniques to improve processes and decision-making
- Other duties as assigned
Principal Data Scientist Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field required
- Advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, business intelligence, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
- Strong experience developing predictive models, forecasting methodologies, and statistical analyses
- Experience working with large, complex datasets in cloud-based environments
- Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and analytical best practices
- Ability to communicate complex data insights to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted technologies and advanced analytical tools
- Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
- Experience in healthcare, technology, consumer products, or other data-rich industries is preferred
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, modern data architecture, and data governance principles is a plus
